Job Summary
Responsibilities
The intern will provide support for the Mission’s Public Information Unit activities, according to a work plan and delivery schedule which will include, but are not limited to the following elements:- Assist in the updating of mission website and social media channels.- Conduct research and draft documents on specified issues relevant to Lebanon and the Middle East region.-Monitor media from Lebanon and the Middle East region- Assist the Media Advisor in organizing and following up on internal meetings of the mission, and external meetings with mission partners, including universities, schools and NGOs.
 Assist in the preparation of work plans and timelines for the organization of roundtable discussions, photo exhibitions and educational outreach activities.- Support members of UNSCOL’s front office, political and coordination teams on specific tasks, as requested.- Perform any other duties as requested.

Education
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
2. Be computer literate in standard software applications;
3. Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
4. Have Internet communication, searching, and Social media skills and
5.Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Work Experience
Applicants to the programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Fluency in oral and written Turkish is desirable. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
